New Year 2009

James uses his Jack Sparrow telescope to look at stills from the Pirates of the Caribbean films.

James' "Rose of Jericho" plant. It might not look like much but when James unwrapped this plant it was a brown, shrivelled ball. We put it in water and this happened! We think it was still a bit cold so the plant didn't open as much as it should do. While James is back home, the plant is taken out of water. It will curl back up into a ball and look like it's dead. But when he next visits, we can bring it back to life again!

These plants are quite clever. They take moisture out of the air as well as through their roots. They even "suck up" smells to make the room smell nicer. Perhpas we should put it next to James' socks!

Visit to Devon

During a visit to Devon James took part in the "Big Draw" event in Barnstaple. This meant he had permission to decorate the pavement with a chalk drawing.

James also got to explore the local clay used to make pottery in Barnstaple during his visit to Barnstaple Museum.

At the park, Dad let through a goal.... again....
